Introducing Citrix Managed Desktop

As you may or may not have seen Citrix recently announced that its much-anticipated cloud DaaS offering, Citrix Managed Desktop is now available!

The GA announcement for Citrix Managed Desktop (CMD) means organisations now have a means of delivering Windows Apps and Desktops from Azure to any device in a quick and painless manner on simple a per user per month costs basis.

It’s Simple!

Citrix Managed Desktops is designed to be a turnkey service. You shouldn’t need a high level of IT experience to use it to deliver virtual apps and desktops to workers around the world on demand. Since it’s a managed service, it provides everything you need with minimal assembly needed to get started.

Citrix Managed Desktops provides everything a customer needs to deliver apps and desktops with minimal assembly. Citrix makes it easy to deliver the apps and desktops your workers need.

High performance

Citrix is known for providing a high definition user experience through technology like HDX. Basically, it’s designed to provide a pristine desktop image at every login. It also gives users the capability to offer both non-domain-joined and domain-joined desktops on any device around the world at any time.

Network connectivity

With Citrix Managed Desktops, you can connect to your corporate resources such as Active Directory and file services using VNet peering into your Azure subscription. Citrix is also working on SD-WAN for Citrix Managed Desktops that will simplify the experience even more. This feature has yet to be released.

World Wide Coverage

Citrix Managed Desktops are available to end-users globally. And Citrix Cloud customers in the United States, the European Union, and Asia/Pacific control planes can provision app and desktop workloads now. More regions are slated to add this functionality soon.
