Securing the SWIFT financial messaging service

In February 2018 Security Researchers Comodo identified phishing attacks and malware targeting internet connected desktops running the SWIFT messaging system. In response to this breach, SWIFT announced updates to their security controls framework. These guideline controls and compliance requirements are mandatory by the end of 2019. This framework is ever evolving with new iterations announced annually, this is one step in an ongoing programme of regulation for SWIFT.

Two thirds of businesses have fallen victim to an attack in the last 12 months

94% of all organisations has a form of governance or risk management in place

9 out of 10 directors or senior managers stating that cyber security is of a high importance

We’ve worked with several clients and have extensive experience on securing access to the SWIFT messaging system in line with the framework whilst meeting both the mandatory and advisory controls. By utilising Citrix technologies we’ve delivered role based, granular access and prevented these attacks from ever reaching SWIFT.
