Something we come across a lot when we take over a new client is how little people know about their IT infrastructure. Quite often we find old servers or kit that have no patches, updates or even are no longer used just left on the network because ‘they’ve just always been there’.

This may not seem a big deal, but that random equipment may be mission critical and not being backed up or is a single point of failure waiting to happen.

On top of that, you’ve got to think about licencing. Are you paying for licences you’re not using or are you unlicensed? Licences can be hefty expenses, keeping track of them to stay legal and running is often overlooked.

IT vulnerabilities are found daily, it’s important you keep your equipment up to date. One of the biggest things we come across when we take over is how often things are out-dated, sometimes by years. We take care of all the patching for your company at times that suit your work force. Have some people that work days and some nights? Let us know who uses what when and we’ll work around them. Our main aim as a company is to keep you working, it’s as simple as that.

Are your backups running – but more importantly are your backups being tested? It’s so important that backups are periodically tested to ensure they actually work. You’ll be surprised how often when we’re testing backups that we’ve recently taken over and we find something missing or not included.

All of our new customers get a free full audit when we take over, we take a look at the full network to first of all work out what we’re going to be looking after and on top of that ensure everything is how you and we expect it to be. This isn’t just limited to the computers on your network but switches, modems, firewalls, printers, wireless access points – if it’s on the network we’ll find it.

Happy with your existing IT Company but just want to check everything is being covered as it should be? We offer our IT Audits as a service, we can check;

  • Are the items you’re paying to be monitored being monitored?
  • Are they up to date with patches?
  • Are you getting value for money?
  • Is the contract being upheld as it should be?
  • Are backups being run?
  • Are backups being checked?
  • What is being backed up?
